The first player who decided to sign a new contract with GTK Gliwice is Kacper Radwański. For the basketball player from Starogard Gdański, it will be the fourth consecutive season in our team. - Both sides were interested in further cooperation and we quickly reached an agreement - ensures a 24 year old shooting guard. The past season was back to the highest league for Radwański. Previously, he appeared on it in the Polpharma Starogard Gdański and Polski Cukier Cukru Toruń. In the last club, however, he played rarely and after the season 2014/15 he decided to move to Gliwice, where he was making progress on the level of the first league from year to year. This ultimately also allowed him to remain in the team and complete the first historic GTK season at the Energa Basket Liga level. In it the shooting guard scored on average: 5.2 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 steals per game. He received a number of defensive tasks from the coach Paweł Turkiewicz and often he was responsible for marking the most dangerous opponents. He usually performed well with his role, which resulted in the fact that the club's owners and the training staff had no doubts about the fate of the player. - Both sides were interested in further cooperation and we quickly came to an agreement - emphasizes the player who feels very good in Gliwice. - During these three years I met many people, some of them even became my friends. I value stability, and I also feel that GTK is able to develop further - he adds.
GTK in the debut season took 14th place, although for a moment there was a chance to finish the season on an even better place. - This season had various faces in our performance. On the one hand, we made a few surprises, and on the other hand we also had a few unexpected defeats - says Radwanski, who is also aware that in the upcoming season will be even more difficult. - The second season for a newcomer is always more difficult. In addition, there will be a significant changes on the roster in Gliwice, and this will mean that we will need some time to put it all together - remarks the 24 year old player. An additional factor hindering the development of a high form at the start of the competition may be moving to a new arena. - Certainly we will need time to acclimatize in a new place and get to know the baskets, but on the other hand it is certainly a better situation than in previous competitions, when the first eight games we played away - the defender defines. - Certainly the fans expect us to fight for the eight, but it will be a very difficult task. We are aware of the fact that many teams have strengthened, a few of them are planning to perform in European competitions, which means that they will also be strong in the domestic competition. The minimum plan is to improve the result from the last season - declares Radwański.
