From Mexico to Gliwice. Dodd will be new center in GTK

Recently appearing in the Mexican Aguilas Doradas de Durango, Damonte Dodd became a new GTK player. 211 cm tall American center is a graduate of the Maryland University, which he finished 8th in the all time list in the number of blocks.
Dodd is from Centerville, Maryland. In his hometown, he graduated from Queen Anne's County secondary school, and then he began his studies at the University of Maryland, although initially it seemed that he would have to be associated with a less prestigious university. Experienced trainers, however, saw his potential and in this way he found a place in the Terrapins. He did not play much in the first season, but he did a lot of work to improve his skills. This brought the expected effect, and the number of minutes spent on the floor grew from 8 to 16. However, the most important, the mighty center became a defensive support, and for the first time since 2010 Maryland advanced to the knockout phase of the NCAA. This was also the case for two consecutive seasons, and the Dodd’s role was growing all the time. Finally, in the last year in academic competitions, the average score was 6.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. The numbers, however, do not fully reflect on the role of Terrapins. In addition to the defensive qualities, Dodd was also useful in the attack, where he was known for skillfully placed screens for other players and for the fight on the attacked board.
After completing his university career, Dodd tried his hand at the back of the NBA league, the G-League, where he made three appearances in Northern Arizona Stars and Maine Red Claws. He continued his career in the Mexican league in Aguilas Durads de Durango. His team took the 8th place, and center in 20 performances recorded on average: 9.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.0 block per game. After the adventure in Central America "Doddzilla", because the nickname gained 211 cm player, he decided to continue his career in Europe. The choice fell on GTK. - I decided to do this because the club plays in the highest league and has a very good coach - explains the acquisition of Gliwice. - I also talked to Maverick Morgan, who played here last season, and I know him from the Big Ten conference and told me that the organization is at a very high level, and the league is demanding - he adds.
- My task will be to help the team in every aspect of the game. I know that I am perceived as a defensive player, but I assure you that I can do many other things. I know how to gain points, I feel good with the ball, but I can also serve my friends with passes. I'm trying to get along well with the team and I want to be seen as a player who can do a lot - Dodd promises.
