GTK Gliwice in the Alpe Adria Cup!

The second season in Energa Basket Liga, and the first in European competition. GTK Gliwice is growing and throwing new challenges, and this will certainly be the participation in the Alpe Adria Cup. On Wednesday, we got to know all the details.
It was supposed to be a surprise, so everything was kept secret until the end. On Wednesday, however, everything became clear. Representatives of our club were in Vienna, where there was an official welcome and a lottery of groups. It is worth adding that our club will be the first Polish representative in the Alpe Adria Cup.
Fate assigned us to Group D, where we will have teams: Sencur Gorenjska (Slovenia), Sluneta Usti nad Lebem (Czech Republic) and BC Hellmann Vienna (Austria). The first match will be played on the 2nd October in Gliwice, and the rivals will be guests from Slovenia. The group phase ends in the 19th December in Gliwice and our opponent will be BC Hellmann Vienna.
It is worth adding that the Alpe Adria Cup started in the season 2015/2016. The first edition was attended by 8 teams, in the next there was 13 participants. Since the season 2017/2018, this number has increased to 16 and the same will be in this season. Clubs from Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia take part in the competition.
