On Friday evening our basketball players competed in Ostrów Wielkopolski. Polish runners-up proved to be better, winning 80:71. If not the fatal third quarter, the match could be treated on the most successful side.
For our team it was the sixth test before the start of the new season. A valuable test, because with the candidate for medals of the Polish championships. The current runner-up of our country has passed some important changes, but it still looks very solid on paper.
Stal started better, but GTK took over the initiative from minute to minute. In the second quarter, the 11-0 series allowed us to take the lead, and before the break we went down to the locker room with our highest advantage in the match, amounting to five points.
Unfortunately, the return to the game was terrible. From 49:46, the hosts scored 15 points in a row. This series decided that we could not win in Ostrów Wielkopolski. It is true that in the fourth quarter we were better, but finally BM Slam Stal can enjoy the triumph 80:71. This was our second defeat in the preparation time.
Myles Mack and Riley LaChance scored 15 points in our team. Double digits also appeared on the account of Piotr Robak and Damonte Dodd. Tomorrow at the WKK Wrocław facilities our team will face a strong rival from Czech Republic, Dekstone Turi Svitavy.
